How It Started

Chapter 1

2017

While I was an undergraduate student, I began teaching myself to paint and set my sights on a career in the Contemporary Art world. To help support myself financially, I started painting on clothing, shoes, and other objects. Turning everyday items into wearable art.

Chapter 2

2020

After a few years, my art began gaining recognition, catching the attention of notable figures like Jhené Aiko and Rick Ross. As well as exhibitions in institutions such as the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago. This opened the door to incredible opportunities. However, by then, I had gone all-in on painting—shutting myself off from other creative outlets.

Chapter 3

2021

Following this, after a year-long and courageous battle with cancer, my father, Mijoshski A. Evans, peacefully closed his eyes for his eternal rest.

Chapter 4

2022

Grief-stricken and lost, I found myself at rock bottom. In search of stability and healing, I moved back to my hometown—Mobile, Alabama. Surrounded by the love and support of my mother and family, I slowly began to piece myself back together.

During this time of reflection, I started thinking more deeply about my legacy and how I could use my art to give back in ways that went beyond the canvas. It was then that my mother revisited an old spark—my early passion for painting on clothing and objects—and suggested I turn it into something greater. She even had a name in mind: Mijoshski, in honor of my father.

At first, I dismissed the idea. But then…

Chapter 5

2023

I began building Mijoshski step by step—starting with heat-pressed shirts and hoodies in my mother’s house, and gradually evolving into custom, hand-crafted apparel. With each piece, I felt a deep and unfamiliar sense of gratitude, as if purpose was slowly stitching itself back into my life.

Around this time, I was also accepted into the MFA Fine Arts program at the School of Visual Arts. With that, I moved to New York, ready to continue pursuing my dreams on a larger canvas.

Chapter 6

2025

Upon graduating from my program, with a renewed sense of purpose, a stronger foundation, and unwavering belief in myself and my work, I’m ready to take both my career and Mijoshski as far as they can go. I hope you’ll join me on this journey.
